Applications

Start with the product you need to make.

Solar film, hot-melt adhesive and flexible compounds ask very different things from EVA. Choose the application first, then narrow the grade range around the process and the finished product.

4application routes
Solar encapsulation

Build the shortlist around the complete film system.

For photovoltaic encapsulant film, resin choice has to work with the formulation, extrusion window, cure response and laminate test plan.

Hot-melt adhesives

Match flow and polarity to the whole adhesive recipe.

The right starting point depends on the tackifier, wax, application method, viscosity window and the substrates that need to bond.

Foam & cable

Qualify the compound, not the neat resin.

Foam and cable formulations can share parts of the EVA range, but mixing, filling, crosslinking and final performance still need separate trials.

Before you shortlist

Questions worth settling early.

How do I choose the right application page?

Start with the product and process you already use. The application pages point to relevant grade groups and the questions worth settling before a trial.

Can one EVA grade serve more than one application?

Sometimes. A grade can appear in more than one shortlist, but the recipe, equipment and finished-product tests decide whether it is a practical fit.

Are these pages a substitute for a TDS?

No. They help you make a shortlist. Ask for the current TDS, SDS, test methods and regional availability before qualification.

Tell us what you are making and how you process it.
